Lord of the Flies

Lord of the Flies adaption by Jamie Hornsby and Danielle Brame Whiting

A group of boys have crashed on a deserted island and must wait for rescue. By day they are collecting food, playing at hunting, and making most of the crystal clear waters, but by night the threat of an unseen beast feeds their nightmares and imaginations. As time crawls on, fertile imaginations and the world of the nightmares begin to overtake their every waking moment.

Adapted from the classic novel ‘Lord of the Flies’ by William Golding (1954), this production takes a contemporary look at the journey taken by a group of young people from curated civilisation to primitive savagery. The play explores themes such as the nature of evil, abuse of power, mob mentality and coveting that which is not ours.
