Rocket Fuel

Launching a theatre career in regional Australia is tough.
We’re here to help.
Rocket Fuel aims to give emerging and independent artists, and production companies, from the Central Coast a boost to their professional journey as an emerging artist. Rocket Fuel will be an ongoing program open to artists aged between 16 – 30 to stage new or existing works at the Launch Pad. Successful applicants will be invited to utilise our factory space to create work that engages their creative aesthetic and the wider community. We are aiming to help between four to six different artists and teams in any given year.
Modelled after Belvior’s 25A program, artists and teams will be given use of our space and a budget of $800 to help create a one weekend performance or showing of any new or established Australian work they desire.
Along the way we’ll offer them mentorship and industry advice as well as access to our resources. These works will be co-productions, with Jopuka taking the financial and insurance liability for the work, removing the logistical stress and allowing room for the art. It’s the sort of program we would have loved to be involved with when we were emerging artists.
Applications open December 1.
Applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis.
Programming commences April 2021.
